No.33 Christmas Save & Silliness

Bad news then good news:

Bad news: My brand new, super expensive, only-reason-I-have-nice-blog-photos, favorite camera in the whole world... is dead :( Also bad, my phone broke on the same night.

Good news: My dad had a spare iphone that he's letting me borrow so now I can update my blog with crappy iphone pictures. It's better than nothing and at least I can still save my shoes right??

I'm hoping to get a new phone+camera (hopefully) in 3 weeks when I get my check, even though that really sets me back in my savings...

Blarg, anyway! I saved some shoes on Chrstmas that I really love and there is a much better photo over here if you wish to see them in all of their brand-new glory.

I spent the holidays eating my weight in tamales and acting waaay too silly with the iphone camera.
Hope your holidays were fantastic!

Photo Friday #5: DIY Dying

I bought these white high waisted shorts from Goodwill ages ago but never wore them because, quite frankly, I hate white bottoms. So I dyed them and now I cannot wait for it to be warm enough to wear them!

I'm Lucky My Favorite Colors are Purple and Green

I went from posting 4 times in 4 days to a whole week without a post. This was not the plan I assure you!
I was actually going to do a whole week of makeup posts to get some use out of my barely-used palettes, but then.. um..
THIS happened:

So. Yea. No amount of primer in the world can make a week full of makeup posts look good if you've got a black eye.
Don't be alarmed, I'm fine. I just went to a Awol Nation/ A Day to Remember/ Rise Against concert on Saturday and well, IT WAS THEE MOST EPIC SHOW OF MY LIFE.

I'm actually freakishly proud of it, it's like my little badge of honor. I named it Henrietta, because I wouldn't let this drunk guy get in front of me so I pushed him and he head-butted me. He had spikey hair that reminded me of Dwight's porcupine on last week's episode of The Office (whose name was Henrietta).

It's kind of funny actually, on the way to the show I told my sister I wasn't coming home without battle scars. (Is there anything worse than going to a show and then coming home without anything to show for it but soreness?? ....just me?)

Anyway, the show was my sister's Christmas present because Rise Against is her all-time favorite band and she moped around for months when we couldn't go to see them in Anaheim, plus we've seen Awol Nation and A Day to Remember before and they usually have a pretty amazing show.

My sister and I always spend the day after looking for youtube vids of the show:

That ball went right over my head! It was the coolest thing until this happened later on when Rise Against played:
(look extreeeeemely closely at the bottom middle of the screen at 2:24 minutes in)

Yea. That was me crowd surfing. My first time! Uuuugh it was so much fun.
My sister did it too but I don't remember what time she did it during this song... *EDIT* She's at 4:10 :)

Anyway, my eye wasn't too bad when I got home, it looked like this:

But the next morning....

My thought process about it went something like this:

Again. Freakishly proud.
So I think instead of makeup posts I'm going to take a few days off to work on some sewing projects so I can posts about those instead. Haha. Hope you are all having amazing (and safe) Decembers!!

I need to have a quick explanation on why my sister is so cool.
First! - We went to the mall all dressed up! (She dresses up with me it's so fun)
Second! - She paid for half of this new friggin awesome coat as an early Christmas present!
Third! - She edited and took these pictures!

No. 29 Via Arte 2011

This blast-from-the-past shoe save is from the beginning of October when our town was hosting its annual Via Arte street art festival. Over two days dozens of artists draw their art on the sidewalk in chalk only. It's a really great time ebcause there are bands and food and even designated tiny squares and free chalk for little kids to participate. In general it's just the coolest thing ever. These were my favorite of the lot, especially the last one, because it was my sister's! She's participated in the events about 3 times now with her school and this time she got her own square. She did a piece originally done by Camilla D'Errico with some minor tweaks so it'd fit. Enjoy!

Happy Monday everyone!

No 25, 26, 27, 28 Yes I am Still Saving Shoes!!

Shoeperwoman recently rounded up the 42nd week of shoe saving. Let's just get this straight... 42 weeks... that means there are 10 weeks left for me to be saving my 65+ pairs of shoes... CAN YOU JUST DO THAT MATH YOURSELF BECAUSE IF I DO I WILL CRY.
D: That's like, more than 30 pairs I have to wear in 10 weeks!! MORE THAN 3 PAIRS A WEEK!!!

...okok I'll stop yelling now because truth is, I have saved a handful of shoes but just keep forgetting/being too lazy to post them. So for the next few posts it's all gonna be about catching up... think of it like time travelling! :D That's sounds fun right?? (I feel like I'm forcing my optimism on you.. in which case I apologize.)

Without further ado, 4 more saved shoes!

First up, my handy-dandy skull-stick-figures sneakers. These are my go-to concert shoes that I've had since my feshman year (that's 5 years! holy crap!)
This was over the summer, so please excuse my extra short-shorts.

Second up are these brown heels I wore to my baby cousin's baptism. they're kinda big but my grandmother found them thriting so I just couldn't say no :))

3rd pair are these black vintage pumps I bought for my high school graduation. This is the only time I've worn them since because they're so delicate.

Last but not least are these black and grey stripe flats from Hot Topic.
I love them so much, they remind me of BeatleJuice haha.
(Please excuse my friend Adam's photobombing. He's such a dork haha)

I've got 3 more but they involve so much more than a couple sentence description. :)
Hope you're all having great weekends!
